Cable Television Assessment Public Forums
The City of Fort Worth will be conducting public forums regarding Charter Communications' request for a franchise renewal. The city seeks public comment to assess future cable-related needs within the community and review Charter's performance under the current franchise term. Although the city can no longer regulate a cable provider on issues such as rate increases or program content, the city does enforce customer service issues and service calls.
Charter Communications has provided cable television service in Fort Worth since 1999. The current franchise expires on Aug. 11, 2006.
Public comment also will be taken by mail, e-mail or telephone. Send written comments to: Community Cable Television, 401 W. 2 nd St., 76102, Attn: Randy Westerman. Comments can be e-mailed to Randy.Westerman@fortworthgov.org , or call the city's Cable Services Office at 817-871-6014 or 817-871-6119.
