Once-A-Week Garbage Service Begins This Week
Fort Worth begins once-a-week garbage/recycling pickup on June 30.
Heres a checklist
to make sure your garbage, recycling and yard trimmings are set out properly.
Garbage & Recycling
- One pickup per week on
your new pickup day
- Put plastic garbage bags
inside BROWN cart
- All bags must fit in
cart; bags left outside cart will not be picked up
- Put un-bagged recyclables
in BLUE cart
- Roll carts to front curb
no later than 7 a.m. on your pickup day
If you wish, set out carts
as early as 6 p.m. the night before
- Place carts at least
two feet apart with serial numbers facing the street
- Retrieve carts from curb
by midnight on your pickup day
- Store carts where they
cant be seen from a public street
Yard Trimmings
- One pickup per week;
the same day as your garbage/recycling pickup day
- Paper bags: put grass,
leaves and small trimmings in paper yard bags; no plastic bags allowed
- Tied bundles: cut and
bundle small limbs and tie with string or twine
o Cut limbs to less than 4 feet long
o Tied bundles must weigh no more than 40 pounds
- Place paper yard bags
and bundles at front curb no later than 7 a.m. on your pickup day
Note: Pickup routes are
changing citywide, so the time of day your trash is picked up may also change.
Separate trucks will pick up your household garbage, recycling and yard trimmings
at different times throughout the day, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. During the first
week of the new program, pickups could run later.
